Mainframe Services supports applications that require high availability and response time. The Mainframe Service also provides the ability to expand and contract mainframe usage as your business requires—and you only pay for what you use.

Benefits of DCS 

By receiving Mainframe Services, you take advantage of the following benefits: 

• State of the art Mainframe processors 

• Disk and tape storage that is Encrypted at Rest and replicated to Disaster Recovery sites 

• Annual Mainframe Disaster Recovery testing with environment recovery in less than 24 hours 

• Technical support for the operating system, third party software, and Database software (except for application management) 

• All hardware is supplied by the service provider, meaning no capital expenses for hardware purchases by the customer 

DCS Mainframe Services are delivered through a contract between the Texas Department of Information Resources and Atos. All DIR customers including state agencies, institutions of higher education, and local government entities are eligible to use the Mainframe Services contract.
