NSOC Overview
If you are a State Agency or customer of the State Data Center or using DIR’s NSOC for internet connectivity, we provide several key services. We provide incident handling and security operations for all Shared Services and NSOC customers to include the following:
-
DIR-provided internet services
-
Managed Security Services (MSS)
-
Texas.gov/Cloud
-
Data Center Services (DCS)
Beyond providing internet access to state agencies and eligible partners, the NSOC provides real-time 24x7 intrusion detection and blocking of suspicious and malicious activity. Our monitoring covers both inbound and outbound traffic. Should we see something suspicious going in either direction we will both alert and work with you to resolve any issues discovered.
Network Security Monitoring, Alerting, and Analysis Services
These services provide early warning for attempted intrusions, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), and cyber-attacks, as well as alerts to authorities that facilitate appropriate countermeasures. Advantages include:

-
Meets audit requirements
-
Prevents attacks and provides early warning

Network Intrusion Prevention Service (IPS)
